A Happy Birthday Flip Card
Hi everyone,
Today's card features a flip design. So, when you pull the left and right sides when opening the card, it flips and you see the center rotate to the back side. I made this birthday card for my brother in law.
Items used:
I had purchased some brown lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon and used one for the double bow.
I added some designs on the right side because I thought it was too plain. I was going to add gears because this was supposed to be a steampunk theme (my bro-in law loves tools and does beautiful wood work)
Thanks for stopping by!

Items used:
- Sizzix die (they have several choices of centers including round, rectangle, fancy like mine is, and a couple of others I think)
- Sizzix framelits die set that matches the flip design in the center (I used these thin dies to cut additional pieces that I then layered onto my card label).
- Sizzix/Tim Holtz Frameworks die
- Graphic 45 Steampunk Collection (base card was made from one of these sheets)
- Gold Glossy card, purple card
- Teal Suede Paper from Hot Off the Press
- Acetate with a white lace design
- Spectrum Noir Alcohol Pens (to color the candles)
- Clear acrylic jewels
- Dazzles by Hot Off the Press
- lace for a bow

A Trip to Paris Card
Hi everyone and Happy Tuesday to you! I hope you all have a great week!
Today's card is a longer size than I usually work in. Its 4 /4 x 8 inches long.
Items used:
- Martha Stewart Deep Border punch
- Gold Glossy card
- Dark brown card for card base
- Washi Tape (travel theme)
- Patterned papers (map theme) from Hobby Lobby
- Wood Clock embellishment (Bo Bunny)
- Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon (to color clock)
- Reproduction of a Paris post card
- Gold word Dazzles Hot off the Press
I was having a retail therapy session at Hobby Lobby and stumbled onto this pad of patterned paper that was ALL MAPS. Its offered in 12 x 12 and in the smaller index card size. The maps are colored and sepia and browns, basically all different colors. I love to use maps in my cards so you can guess that I bought these (and they were 50% off too !).
The card was layered with the map papers and the seams were covered with the washi tape.
I punched an extra strip of dark brown card with the border design and used that as part of my layers.
Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You Card
Items used:
- white card stock for card base
- purple vellum (paper and more.com)
- Martha Stewart Beaded Border Punch
- Lavender grosgrain ribbon with purple stitching
- Gold Word Dazzles from Hot off the Press
- Double stick adhesive tape
I took a 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch sheet of purple vellum and folded it in half to cover both the front and back of my card (like an overlay). I punched the border design in the bottom front half of my card only.
You're not going to believe this but I used plain old double stick adhesive tape to adhere my vellum piece to my card base. I placed one strip on the top on each side of my card and added the vellum. It doesn't show I guess because the purple is slightly less translucent. At any rate I was pleasantly surprised. (I did the tape thing on the back of my card and when I didn't see anything I added it to the front also.)
I added my ribbon and a sentiment and the card was done. This is a nice card design for when I have to make a card quickly.
Take care, Lis

Happy Everything! a Birth Card for Sister
I made today's card for my sister who has a birthday.
Items used:
- navy card stock for card base
- Blue border Dazzles (hot off the press)
- Blue and gold striped paper (hot off the press)
- blue vellum (the blue is a coating) (paper and more)
- gold glossy for tags (EK Success tag punch)
- white birthday word Dazzles
This card turned out really nice and has a nice line to it. Did you notice the blue and gold paper? Its from Hot Off the Press. They are selling it now on clearance for 4.95 per pack of 25 sheets. You can beat that. The gold is really gold and the blue is a rich cobalt. its a very pretty paper (not card stock).
I used the vellum as a layer and tore it (probably the easiest thing you can do with vellum...LOL). I used Sizzix repositionable sheet to add a layer of adhesive to the back so that you cant see it from the front.

Thanks... a Thanksgiving Day card
Hi everyone!
I rarely make Thanksgiving day cards. I don't know why, I really like the day. So today's card is just that, a Thanksgiving Day card that I made for my sister.
Items used:
What I like most about this card is that when I adhered the leaves, I used only one small glue dot in the center. Before I placed my leaf down I turned the edges up on the leaf so that It looked more like it was blown by the wind.
I added two leaves under my bow also.
Thanks for stopping by!

Tempus Fugit (Time Flies)
Hi everyone, Thank you for stopping by!
I have been hanging on to some matted patterned paper for a while now (I'm embarrassed to say ho long) and finally decided to use a piece on this card. It is matted with blue suede paper.
Items used:
- Bo Bunny papers
- white adhesive pearls
- yellow crinkle ribbon
- yellow ribbons with the long hair (I really forget what its actually called)
- paper roses (Wild Orchid Crafts)
- Glitter (Ranger)
Since the hair ribbon wants to curl, I cut some small one inch pieces and used them like leaves and with a glue dot adhered them under the roses.
Bye for now, Lis

Halloween Pumpkin!
I thought I'd sneak another Halloween card in on you! Sorry for the blurry pictures though. If I have time later this week I'll retake them.
Items used:
- Martha Stewart Punch
- Sizzix Jack o Lantern and Halloween word dies (Tim Holtz)
- Gold Ripple & silver linen specialty cardstocks (Hot off the Press)
- base card is black card stock but this one has a pattern and is slightly "furry"
The gold fence/gate is a Martha Stewart favorite of mine. These punches always have such wonderful detail. I love the little bats.
Have a great day!

Birthday Wishes
Items in card:
- patterned paper from Bo Bunny
- White Dazzles words Hot off the Press
- lavender plaid ribbon - really Reasonable ribbon
- embellishments - old and from my stash - they are acrylic flowers - I got them rom hot off the Press
- white car for card base
I have to say - isn't this plaid wonderful? I'm on a lavender kick right now but I do love the homey feel that a plaid ribbon gives.
Inside of my card has the rest of the message:
I hope you enjoyed this fun little card.

Butterflies in Pink
I've really been challenging myself to work with patterned papers. I know many of you will think this is an easy thing but its not for me. SO, I think I've bee doing pretty good with it. Not too many cards that I've relegated to the ugly folder...LOL. And I really like the sentiment!
The butterflies are some that I picked up from Hot off the Press - Hunky-dory. These are pretty and are foiled. I like the 3-d effect they give this card.
I managed to find some Bo Bunny paper that had butterflies also so it was a nice match.
Take care and have an excellent day1

Four Men, a Birthday Card
Today's card can be used for just about any celebration. I made it to be used for a male birthday though.
The card is an off size being 6 4 1/4.
Items used:
- Gold Border Dazzles by Hot Off the Press
- Patterned paper by Bo Bunny
- Teal blue card stock for base by Cor'Dinations
- Chipboard by Graphic 45
- Metal Bird charm by Idea Ology
- Crinkle ribbon in yellow and blue by Really Reasonable Ribbon (May Arts)
- Gold shimmer paper
This is a good picture of all the gold thin line border dazzles that I used. I really like how the word paper turned out. I wasn't sure if the layering would look good. I think the gold lines help. The metal bird helps to give a Victorian feel to the card and coordinates well with the chipboard.
Sorry for such a fuzzy picture. I'm going to blame it on my cat this time....LOL! This pic is supposed to show the layering that I did. Also you can see how I used the gold border dazzles. I didn't place them on top of the edge of my layers but rather next to them.
Two color bow...

You Make Me Smile....
Hi all,
I want to make more cards with cut front panels so here's my first one. This is not a new technique. I really like it as it adds interest to a card.
Items used:
- White border dazzles & Words (Hot Off the Press)
- Bo Bunny Patterned Paper
- Crinkle Ribbon in yellow from Really Reasonable Ribbon
- White card base
The card size is A2 (4 1/4 x 5 1/2). Before I cut the front panel, I added a full layer of paper and then another contrasting layer for the bottom 1/3 of the front panel. Note - I added the postcards first before I added the blue third panel.
I cut the front panel freehand so I practiced a couple of times - because I only got one shot at it! Although the dazzles were straight I was able to lay them down following the curve of my card without a problem, including the words. These are pretty sturdy by very flexible.

Beware Halloween!
Today's card is a pretty simple one to make.
Items for card
- orange and black card stock
- Orange 1mm jute string/ribbon (reasonableribbon.com)
- Sizzix Halloween Words
- Sizzix Bigz die - ghosts
- Authentique Halloween patterned paper
- white vellum
- Charm from Idea Ology
I also cut the word Halloween from black card stock. After I attached my patterned paper, I added the word, fitting it into the cut space on my patterned paper.
Ive seen this technique elsewhere on the web an I think its just so cool. I could have added back some of the little pieces in the "a" "o" and "l" - maybe next time.
I added a little charm from Tim Holtz Idea Ology release this year and tied it on with the orange jute string.
Vellum is not new but I love bringing it out again and using it for my ghosts.
Another look...
Thanks for stopping by!
