Another Easter Card

Hi all,

Long time no see!  I've got quite a few cards to show you over the next week or so!

First, I have a rather belated Easter card.

• Ribbon is from May Arts and , yes, its bi-color organza

• Die cuts from Anna Griffin (gold foiled)
• Hunkydorey colored images

I collaged a variety of Easter images onto a square card 6 x 6  The paper is a patterned paper that I had with roses.

Happy Easter Card

Hi everyone!

Today's card is an Easter card!  Easter will be here early this year and I waned to get at least one holiday card out on time!

Items used:

• Creative Expressions - Sue Wilson Dies - Italian Collection
• Easter Word Die - Cheery Lynn Designs
• Pink Satin Foiled Card
• Turquoise card in dark and light shades
• Spectrum Noir Glitter pen in green
• Pink striped paper - Anna Griffin
• Plain pink card
• Tim Holtz Range Distress Glitter
• Paper Rose & white pearl head pins

To make my card, I die cut both blue pieces.  I die cut the inner circle again out of pink satin foil card.  I cut the roses from tat and glued them onto the blue circle panel.  I colored the leaves with Spectrum Noir green sparkle pen.  I mounted this piece onto the dark blue outer piece with foam tape.

I cut the inner most circle in pink satin foil card also and mounted it with foam tape but a double layer.  I did this so that I could push the two head pins into the foam tape.  (I used a wire cutter first to trim off the sharp ends.  These pins are fairy long so I cut them down by half.)  I added a paper rose using a pop dot to cover the wire stems of the head pins.

I cut the word Easter using pink card.  I covered the front with Tacky glue and dusted it with the glitter.  I mounted the word onto the pink circle using Tacky Glue also. Because I used a foiled card, when I die cut the circle, the embossing took as well.

Happy Easter Card

hi everyone!  I made an Easter card for my sister in New York and wanted to share it with you today.

 

I've had these Mylar flowers in my stash for years (I'm embarrassed to admit it!).  You know, I sometimes buy something and save it until just the right moment.  Today was that day for these flowers. (I do plan on adding a tag sentiment to the front of my card...just haven't gotten to it yet)

The colors are vibrant and best of all they are mostly flat.  There is SOME dimension on them and they have some embossing too as you can see.  I think my sister will enjoy this card.

 

I actually have some translucent flowers too.  The orange layered flower has one in it.

 

 

 

I added some white pearls for centers and a few to accent the curve of the embossed pink shimmer cardstock beneath.

 

 

Did you know that you can make these pretty flowers? Paper Wishes sells the mylar material (Called Shimmer Sheetz ) that you can use to cut out flowers.  A few embossed lines and you will have a great set of flowers.  In fact, I may do that myself.

Spring! a card

 

Hi everyone!  I have been enjoying the Spring weather out here in California.  It's been so nice and cool in the evenings.  It has inspired me to do a colorful Spring card!   pulled out all the stops for this cheery and colorful Spring card.  The card base is a lively dark pink with a mat of light pink edged in gold. I added a strip of matted purple (on dark pink!) and hung my banners from that. 

My "banners" were cut from the Frantic Stamper labels. I cut the sides off each and one end.  I also embossed them with different springtime designs like flowers and leaves.  I used some glimmer paper in lavender and lime and an orange patterned paper. (If you were reading this without having seen the picture, I wonder what you'd be thinking right now!  "She's lost it!"?)

I got my banners onto my card and felt it needed a little more. So, I added some flowers with white pearls in the centers.  I decided on bakers twine in purple and a strip of white doily Dazzles at the bottom of the card.  In all, the card really only took me about ten minutes!  I love these inspired moments!

An Easter Wish

Hi all,

I wanted to wish each of you a Happy Easter.

I wanted to make a tri fold card.  I cut a letter size cardstock on a slant and used a punch to creae my design.  Since 11 x 8 1/2 lacks one inch, I ended up pasting on a 4 inch page to my front so that each part of the card was 4 inches. (Next time I will use a 12 x 12!)

I took some Anna Griffin papers and glued them on and trimmed them.  I edged each panel with Dazzles in different colors. 

Since the middle back panel shows when the card is folded, I also covered that one.
I punched a pink cardstock design (same design)P and glued it over top of the ivory base for the middle section only to give more contrast.

 

I edged the tops with versa mark and embossed with Zing Silver glitter embossing powder.

I added a die cut egg in yellow an added different sized white pearls to decorate.

 

I added a few last dazzles in lavender to the last panel.  I will write my sentiment here.

Easter Bonnet

 

I love to use old pictures in my artwork. I came across this picture of a little girl in a bonnet and it reminded me of when I was a little girl at Easter.  Mom always got us a new dress to wear when we visited grandma on Easter Sunday.

 

I used the Heartfelt Creations Paper Pad for my background paper on an ivory card base. 

I also used Prima flowers.  They have these packets of flowers in different sizes and leaves too!  It made it very easy to create my bouquet.  I did use some additional flowers and pieces but not much! 

 

I cut out the frame in burgundy suede paper and used the same Frantic Stamper die to cut out my picture. 

 

I like using photo corners because they lend themselves to that old fashioned feeling.  I added a white pearl butterfly pin as a last touch (did you spot it?).  Have fun creating your own Easter cards this year!

An Easter Card

 

 

It's that time of year again! Easter is coming.  here are chocolate bunnies and baskets full of toys in the stores and eggs all around!  I used a new die from Frantic Stamper to cut this egg from gold glossy cardstock.  I backed it with Stardream lavender paper which I first embossed.  Finally i decorated my egg and matted pieces with white pearls. (To tell you the truth I wasn't sure how white pearls would work.  I only have white and beige, no ivory...but the white looks kind of nice!) I also used a label die from Frantic Stamper to die cut some pink Stardream paper that I then embossed.

 

 

 

I added some lime green crepe ribbon.

A Summer Card with a Bunny!

Hi everyone and Happy Summer to you all! 

We always use bunnies on Easter cards but they are great for Summer cards too!

I actually started out by creating the plaid for my bunny. I used white glossy for my cardstock and alcohol inks.  Once I knew the color scheme, I chose an ivory cardstock as the mat (embossed) and a pretty blue shimmery Bazzill Bling shade for my card.

I used Tea Dye Ink (Ranger) to edge my ivory mat to bring out some of the embossing and to "age" it a little.

My little plaid bunny was made using a Tim Holtz technique using alcohol inks.  If you want the steps to the technique, go to Tim's blog and search "plaid". 

On my bunny I did two different colors of plaid.  I used a soft pastel for the bow.  Also, I added a cute little crocheted doily for my bunny to sit on!

Easter Cards - #5

I really like Easter. When I was a child, I would wake up Easter Sunday morning and 2 things would be true. 1 - I would have a new Easter dress that I would wear when we visited Grandma that day and 2-The Easter Bunny left me an Easter basket filled with candy... of course I had to find it!  My sister and I always had fun Easter morning finding (and eating) our Easter Baskets.

This is a simple Easter card with cute background paper done in rabbits (Graphic 45) and a name plate (Heritage cartridge Cricut) with Easter spelled out. Enjoy!

 The little bow with a pearl accent is the only embellishment I used and it fits perfectly!

This one card is a green monochromatic Easter card.  You will notice the yellow rabbits.  These are
Martha Stewart punches.

The detail on these little guys is really nice. I added a white pearl for the little tail!

Easter Cards - #3

This Easter card was inspired by a song I used to sing at school when I was a child.  "Here comes Peter Conttontail, Hoppin' down the bunny trail..."

Easter Cards - #2

This Easter Card features ribbons, ribbons, ribbons!  I really love ribbons.  I don't think we use them enough on cards. There is such a variety and some truly spectacular companies  that produce some of the most beautiful ribbons I have seen (Mays Arts to name one).  Prima Flowers has some new selections in ribbons and many companies that make scrapbook papers also sell matching ribbons.

To add the ribbons below:

1. Take two ribbons and join them at one end.
2. Put a glue dot between the two ribbon ends and attach them together (this will make it easier to work with)
3. Take the one end and attach it with a glue dot to the back of your card front.
4. Twist the ribbons loosely around each other.
5. Trim the ribbons so that you have about one inch overlapping the edge of the card front.
6. Take another glue dot and attach the ends of the ribbons together.
7. Fold the ribbon ends to the back of your card front and attach to the back with a glue dot.
8. Make two bows - one of each ribbon.
9. Attach each ribbon with a glue dot on top of the twisted ribbons.
10. (You will notice that I attached the lighter ribbon on the top and the darker on the bottom.  I also matched the bows to the twisted part of the two ribbons that showed the most at each end. I hope this makes sense.)

TImeless Christmas - Stampscapes Technique Card

Hi everyone!  Today I want to introduce you to Stampscapes!  Stampscapes are rubber stamps that create scenes when you put them together.  There is a website http://www.stampscapes.com/ where you can look at many samples, look for classes and instructors (I am one!)

I used four stamps to complete this picture. (Yes, I know it's a Christmas card, but I really like it)  The coloring on this card is a layering of colors which is the techniques stampscapers use.  These cards have a very typical "glow" to them.

There are a number of stampscapes techniques including using a foam applicator and airbrushing with copic markers or alcohol inks.  This is in addition to the traditional applicator with dye inks.  Most if not all stampscape cards are done on glossy white cardstock. The stamps are stamped in StazOn black.

Easter Cards - #1

Hi everyone!

How is your weekend going?  Mine is good.  While I'm working on the COPIC Post projects, I thought I'd share this with you!

Easter is coming so I wanted to share some Easter Card designs that I really love.  Look for three other posts on March 29, 30 and 31 for more Easter cards!

This card is simple, easy to make and elegant!  It features nontraditional Easter colors.  I think the bold flower design makes for a dramatic presence.  The little yellow bunnies at the bottom are just so cute!

 

You all know how much I love the Martha Stewart border punches. I used the bunny border on this card and added white pearls for their tails.  I placed the border at the bottom and added a pretty ribbon to go along with it.

This is the tag I made.  Its simply a punched out piece of glitter cardstock (scallop punch by Punch Bunch).  I used Micro Mono Stickers by Basic Grey.  The letters are just small enough (or big enough) to be just right for adding to cards.

This card is a variation on the original design and is a little bit more collage-y.  The bunnies are still at the bottom but in a more subtle beige paper.
