Hi and welcome!

Today's card is made from an older Anna Griffin kit that I had.

I made up the window and added a bouquet of flowers sticker to the inside.  

This window will fit a mini slimline very nicely.

I created the mini slimline (6 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches) from white cardstock.  I matted it with some patterned paper from Paper Wishes (Perfect Little Prints).  I added an ivory bow at the top. Done.  An easy card to make and pretty to send.

Simple Arch Card

 

I like shaped cads. I think I forget to use them now and again. this is a simple arch shaped card I made with a window. The front I a panel from Hunky Dory Crafts (gotta love them - Im so addicted!)

Items used:

• Gold Tiny Dazzles
• Lacy ribbon
• Front Panel (Hunky Dory -carried by Hot off the Press)
• Small postcard (also Hunky Dory)
• Foiled butterfly also by HD)
• Purple shimmer card stock for card base

The size of my card is about 5 1/8 by about 7 inches.

To make my center window, I lined up my inside insert on the inside of my card base, traced the rectangle and then cut it out.  The inside is also matted with gold and purple.

Star Light Star Bright...

Today's card is a favorite of mine.  I love the fanciful children's rhyme and the blue glitter on this card.

Items used:

• white card stock for card base
• blue glitter tape
• gold ripple holographic card from Hot off the Press
• Star die & Rectangle Die from Frantic Stamper
• Flourish Dies from Couture Creations (Frantic Stamper has these on sale!)
• Message - computer journaled
• Silver Vellum

You can get a better look at the silver vellum I used to back the cut out stars on the front of my card.

I used mounting tape (doubled) to attach the sentiment to the front of my card but only at the parts that actually touched. 

 

I used a few rhinestones to decorate the inside.

Liberty, a card

Hi everyone and Happy Independence Day to the USA!

I used the following items for my card:

• Frantic Stamper Precision Dies (Eagle, the word "America")
• Chevron design embossing folder
• Tim Holtz embossed cardstock - Seasonal Pack (pre embossed by company)
• Red plaid ribbon, red and whit rhinestones
• Card stock - white (for card base) and gold foil

I really like the font used for America.  Proud and strong.

I used the eagle die to cut a window in the embossed gold foil card.  I sanded the blue embossed card and then positioned it behind the open area so that some of the words showed through.

Thinking of You...a three Layer Card

 

  

I got the idea for this card from a webisode called Simply Ann.  I liked the idea so much that I copied a couple of parts from it (the acetate and the window).  This card takes a little time to do but it's worth it.

I wanted to make a card for my sister who lives in New York State.  I wanted to do a travel theme because we live so far apart.

To start I decided on a 6 1/2 x 5 card base out of white cardstock. I measured some acetate and cut it with about 1/4 inch so that I could bend it back and attach to the back of my card later.  I love working with acetate.  There is so much that I can do with it like making shaker boxes, stamped designs for overlays, tinting it with alcohol inks.

I started work with my main card by covering it with paper from Graphic 45's Come Away with Me collection.  It fits perfectly with the travel theme.

I covered my card and then used the photo card die to cut the center out.  Then I glued this cut out to the inside of my card using the cut out as a guide.

I decorated each layer so that there was a surprise when you turned the page.

Aren't these little icon people fun?

I love the flower and leaf dies! One die and several sizes of flowers and leaves! Grand!

 

I can think of so many uses for the light bulb!

 

 

One last thing I did was to take a plain white ribbon and use Distress Stain (Salty Ocean) on it.  I dyed the ribbon, dried it and it came out beautifully.

A Door in Paris

Today's card uses a Sizzix die that I discovered. A door!  I really love it!  One tip - only run through one piece of cardstock at a time or you will end up cutting where you want to crease.

I wanted the front of my card to look like a door in a hallway.  I added a broom and a rolled up paper.

Here is the inside when I open the door- the Eiffel Tour.  The inside of the card has a greeting.

The broom was originally purchased for Halloween and had an orange tie around it.  I dyed this with walnut stain and it came out really well.

The white you are seeing is from the Picket Fence distress marker.
