Christmas Cards - Christmas Night

Hi everyone and welcome to another week of Christmas Card Inspriation!

Today's card was inspired by my childhood experience of winter.  I grew up in upstate New York.  We had lots of snow and I lived not quite in the city (pre-suburbs!).  I used to love to take walks at night after a fresh snowfall.  The snow would be on the ground sparkling white and stars would be glittering against a midnight blue sky.  It was always so quiet. I loved those times.

So, in honor of those peaceful times, I would like to share "Christmas Night."

I made two cards (as you can see below).  I really like the deer looking at my "star".  I thought using silver glitter cardstock in back of the white would give the overall appearance some depth.  I didn't use a white glitter deer because I didn't think the deer would show up well.

I really love the way Tim Holtz designed this deer die.

His tree die isn't bad either!
I hope you enjoyed today's cards.  Please consider joining my following or leaving a message.

Thank you!

Christmas Pear - Home Decor

Hi everyone!  I thought I would share a pear that I decorated for my Christmas table.

I love the shape of pears.  I bought this one in the plastic fruit aisle at Michael's.  I used decoupage and covered it with Tim Holtz' tissue wrap in music.  Then I used Copic markers and sprayed (colored) the pear.  I added glue to the bottom of the pear and added the purple micro beads.

I added a gold leaf, white gold foiled butterflu and three clear gems.

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Page - Marching Band at Disneyland

My nephew is in a marching band that got invited by Disney to play.  I created a scrapbook page from the pictures that were sent to me.  I don't do many scrapbook pages.  I have been to all the classes and even completed SDU.  I do like to create scrapbook cards which are a lot of fun to make.  If you would like to see more scrapbooking, let me know in your comments.

Hope you like my page!

Sunflower Card

I thought I would share this card with you. It is not Christmas (thought you would need a break...LOL).

The card base is ivory and the embossed mat is canyon brown cover by Neenah (Kelly Paper).  This is actually 2 sunflowers. The top one is attached using mounting tape.

The center of my flower:
1. I cut out the center from the 2nd flower.
2. I painted it with thick glue.
3. I adhered gold micro beads, let it dry and then attached to the center of my flower.

Close Up!

The sunflower image came from a computer image that I printed and cut out. I printed and cut two flowers, layering one on top of the other. Before layering:
1. I took a Versamark pen and gold embossed all the petals.
2. I used different colors of embossing powder on the various petals of the second flower, "coloring" it.
The colors I used were lapis blue, silver, pale gold and Worn Lipstick (distress EP).

These leaves are from a package of leaves I've had hanging around for quite a while.  They have wire stems which is nice. it makes it easy to mold them.

I hope that you enjoyed the card!

Christmas Cards - Christmas Bell

Hi everyone! Welcome to my Christmas Card season!  I look forward to each Christmas season when I get to make Christmas cards!  I love making and sending them to my loved ones.  I hope that these cards bring you inspiration to try a few of your own!

Today's card is called Christmas Bell and is made with Bo Bunny Papers from their 2011 Father Christmas line.

I really love this bell.  It looks so three-dimensional.  I added a jewel over the clapper and some pearls.  A pretty dark green bow and done.

The card base is red and the mat is a rich brown.

Close Up!

This is a close up of one of the K & Company stickers I am using with my cards this year.

I added white pearls over top of the berries.  I thought this gave a nice 3-d touch to my card.

Thanks for stopping by. Come back again for more Christmas Cards!
