Hi everyone! Thanks for being patient with me while I get my act together! Today's card is a flower cluster using paper, fabric and felt. And I have lots of close ups!
I started out with some of Tim Holtz vellum. This is the background that you see. It has skeleton leaves as part of the pattern. I adhered the vellum to an ivory card base. I outlined my card in gold and then spattered more gold onto the card. (It was so pretty I hated to cover it up. I thought it would make a good note card too.)
Since the vellum and card base were more of an ivory/brown color, I chose the same from Prima flowers, and some paper flowers that I got from Wild Orchid Crafts. The pearl in the middle of the orange fabric flower was white. I took some Tarnished Brass Distress Ink and colored it, added some heat from my heat gun to dry it. (I just rolled the tip over the pearl. I probably should have gone back in with a q-tip or brush to do the edges but I liked it as is.)
I wanted a frame for my flowers and decided on copper foiled paper. I used a Frantic Stamper die to cut out the frame. Then I used an xacto blade to cut out the middle so I ended up with an evacuated frame. I used the middle to create my sentiment flag.
I took this close up so that you could see the green leaf I added at the top of my card. It has sparkle in it and has the look of vinyl or plastic. I added it because this area of the vellum had no design and I wanted to add a dash of green.
Finally I added two pearl pins. I added a small brass key to one.
I used interference Violet embossing powder to emboss my sentiment onto the copper. (I was trying to find my white but couldn't <sigh>). I wish they made ivory embossing powder.
There is one last thing I wanted you to note. Did you see the tree crystals that I added between the copper flower and the leaves? I was wandering through ebay one night and found ts place that sold wedding scatters -these are plastic crystals (fully faceted so not flat back) and they sold packs of 6.5/4.5mm. I think those were the sizes. Anyway, I bought a few of the colors to experiment with. The picture doesn't really show the sparkle. Its not like crystal so it doesn't sparkle a LOT but it gives a nice twinkle. I glued them on with some Aleenes thick glue.
So, that's my card for today! I hope you enjoy it!
