Card with Wooden Accents & a Decorated Wooden Frame

Well I'm back online temporarily. My brother in law is an expert IS guy and engineer (and a genius). He helped me get back online and saved me from the dreaded blue screen of death! Unfortunately my poor old PC needs replacement o I will be getting a new PC soon. AND I still hope to do video then!

Thank you all for sticking with me. I want to share two pieces I made for Unruly Papers Arts Blogzine.

The first is a card with wooden accents.

There are so many wooden accents now. It's hard to choose. One that I really like is PRIMA. Their line is called Wood Icons in a box. You can see their items HERE
There are houses, rulers, birds, so much its hard to choose.

My card below features some birds and one wood border. I colored all with Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Paint.

I also used a couple of wood houses. Aren't they cute?
This last picture shows a bit of the dimension achieved. Everything was attached with either glue dots (birds) or red tape.

My 2nd project is a wooden frame.

I started with a plain wooden frame I bought for a dollar at Michaels. I painted it with white gesso first and then used a stencil and moulding paste to add the flower texture. I sprayed with two colors and then sanded lightly to distress. Then I decorated with some tissue tapes and embellishments. Guess what I used for the mirror...Tim Holtz Mirror card. I worked really well.

You will notice the fan blades in the lower right. I found them in the wedding aisle, cut them apart, and painted with gesso. I am going to make some cards with them also and will share with you when I do.

Thanks for stopping by!
