Blue Butterfly Card

Hi all,

This is my very first foray into 8 x 8 cards.  I've been watching Create and Craft on my PC and it seems that everyone in Europe makes cards that are 7 x 7 o 8 x 8.  So, I wanted to give it a whirl.  I wasn't sure that I would have enough stuff and ideas to fill up such a large card.

Items Used:

• Hunkydory Little Book of Butterflies & map paper
• Ecstasy Crafts Ticket Punch and plastic ticket domes
• tiny words - Tim Holtz
• Blue wrinkle ribbon - May Arts
• black card for mats
• white card for card base

Although this looks like I matted and layered it, its all one picture.

Sophisticated...a card

Items used:

• Downton Abbey Line from Crafters Companion (patterned paper, frame, bow and picture)
• copper adorable scorable from Hunkydory
• embossing folder (Crafters Companion - a Taste of India line)
• Ribbon - May Arts
• Pearls

I received an email from May Arts inviting me to ask for a sampler, so I did. This is one of the ribbons they sent me.  I'm already a fan of May Arts - I love their ribbons.  This is actually one ribbon with the velvet brown already fused to the lace.

Tis is a closer look at the frame.  Its mde of wood and in this case is covered with paper on one side.

Pink Believe in Yourself Card

Hi everyone!

It's funny how I start with one plan to make a card and end up making something different. Does that ever happen to you?  I had wanted to make an Easter card (that's how long it's been that this card has been under construction). 

Items used:

• White shimmer paper (already came embossed with wavy lines)
• Anna Griffin patterned paper, sentiment & die cut
• Pink shimmer adorable scorable card (Hunkydory)
• Sizzix embossing folder
• Lime green glitter tape
• after I added the glitter tape, it was very bright so I added the pearl string over top of it.  It still let the green show through, just not quite so much!
• pearl ribbon
• iridescent sequins

I like using the sequins, they give the card a little sparkle and interest.

Classic Card

Items used:

• Downton Abbey Line (dies, papers, embossing folder, embellishments)
• gold foil card
• dark brown card for card base

These  are good pictures of the frame die cut detail.  Its difficult to see but there is embossing with the use of the die.

Elegant Birthday Wishes

• The bling comes from Michaels.  The bling border was cut from a sheet.  It looks like art deco.
• The embossing folder used is from the Crafters Companion Downton Abbey line
• Gold adorable scorable card (Hunkydory)
• Silver card for chandelier

I used three different colors of gems for the chandelier.
