Micro Mini Slims!

Hi everyone and Happy weekend to you all!  I hope you are doing something crafty today!

Today is the last of the mini card posts, and we're going with MICRO MINI SLIMS! (Mini slimline cards) These cute cards are 4 inches tall x 2 1/2 wide.

All my cards are made with white cardstock.

This one is my favorite. I love the purple hues in the patterned paper.  The mini flowers come from Anna Griffin.

I wanted an oriental feel and for the most part I think I succeeded.  I was trying to do floating random flowers but that didn't come out like I wanted it to. In hindsight, I wish that I had made the upper flower straight.

This card is made with papers from Graphic 45 and gives it a rich feel. I didn't have a lot of room for matting so i used Thin Line Dazzles to edge my papers and the touches of gold really are pretty.

This is a micro mini slimline card also.  It looks kind of big in the picture. I did mat my card base with black to make the card stand out. The sentiment is from one of those repeat word dies. I trimmed down the strip to fit my card.

This is a bold card.  I took some black cardstock and cut some strips of paper in different colors. I added these to the black card and trimmed my edges. I matted this onto my card. I added a strip of embossed purple cardstock (same color as the strip) and matted onto gold. I added a yellow bow that I had lying around.

I hope that you enjoyed our Sundays together as we explored the mini card!

Mini Cards and Butterflies!

Hi everyone!

Hope that you are all doing well.  I am enjoying the cooler weather out.

Today's mini cards include butterflies, butterflies and butterflies!

All cards are 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.

The butterfly decorations are translucent stickers I bought off Amazon.

First card is white cardstock base, matted with a patterned paper. You can't tell from this picture but the patterned paper actually has a sheen on it and makes it look a little lie Stardream paper.

White ribbon and bow and butterflies in different sizes added and gems.

Second card was pretty simple.  Card base was made from white cardstock and matted with black cardstock, then patterned paper.  I tore a strip of paper and glued it to my card, then added the butterflies.  I trimmed the edges and then added the patterned paper to my card. Silver gems added.

This card base is made with whie cardstock.  There is no mat.  Instead I used Thn Line Dazzles (Paper Wishes) to create an edge around my card.  I die cut a basket weave pattern from gold mirror card and added it to my card. I added the butterflies and finished with Tonic Dream Drops which are in pastel shades of pink, green and blue. Dream Drops are also AB. The sentiment comes from Tiny Words and Phrases in black (Paper Wishes). (I have to say - the green shade is called Dragon Scales.  I love that name.)

This last card is probably my favorite. The translucent butterfly looks so ethereal against the patterned paper beneath it.
I added the butterfly to some honeycomb paper (foiled in gold) and added the sticker and trimmed. I added a gold mirror card mat and added to my card. I added a sentiment and a single gold gem.

I hope that you've enjoyed my cardlets. Lis

Mini Cards Built around different techniques

 Hi everyone!

Hope your week has gone well.

For today's mini card collection, each card uses a different technique.  Let's go!

First up - the Tunnel Card.

My card base is white cardstock.  The challenge here was to line up my oval dies for each layer so that when they cut the centers, the centers would line up. I used a scalloped oval die to make the second layer cut.

I created some dimension by adding some gold swirlies in between the layers.  The bottom layer is a beautiful, patterned vellum paper from Crafters Companion (Hummingbird collection).

My second card is a collage card.  Collage is probably my favorite style.  I used a number of items to create my design.
  • The man comes from Tim Holtz paper Dolls
  • All the pink comes from the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Collection in Blush including the ephemera and the rub ons.
  • The sentiment is also from Tim Holtz Chit Chat.

I'm not sure that you would call this a technique as much as a style. It's an overlay. The card base is made from white cardstock and matted with collage papers. I added a strip of crochet to add to the "age". The overlay of gold flowers comes from a single die.

The following three cards used the Iris Folding technique. I pulled out some different nesting die shapes and used the smaller ones to create the aperture.  I chose plain cardstock colors (although you can used patterned paper for this). I chose thinner cardstock.  Once all the pieces are folded and added, it can be quite thick.
I added the top mat and decorated.

I hope that you enjoyed these mini cards!

Blinged Out Mini Cards

 Hi everyone!

I'm back again with more mini madness!

This time I used gems to design and encrust my cards, along with strips of paper in geometric designs.

For this first card, I used a black card base and then pulled out all my bling and covered the front.  The card isn't thick at all.

On the next cards I used paper strips to create a design and then decorated with either pearls or gems to accent.

The last card is a little different from the others.  I was trying to replicate a design that I saw online (but didn't quite make it...LOL). So I covered up the design with a gold mirror die cut (that's geometric, right?) and added some bubbles below.

Hope that you enjoyed today's mini cards!

Halloween Rocker Cards

 Hi everyone!

So, there was this challenge in July on Scrapbook.com to make mini cards.  I thought it would be cute, so I signed up.  WOW, what fun!

I pulled out my oval nested dies and used them to cut the card base.

Dimensions of the finished rockers are 5 inches long x 2 inches high.

The decorations at the top of each card make it more. Boo has a double mat.

(I think BOO! is my favorite.)

All of my base cards were made with white cardstock except Lucky which was made with a hot pink pearl card base.

I used a set of nested scallop ovals to cut papers that I used to mat the card bases.

I tried to make each cardlet (?) in a different style.

I managed to use up a few scraps along the way!

Enjoy!
