Happy Together

 Happy Together

I'm pulling old dies from my stash and using them!  Do you have dies that you haven't used yet...for like a year?  Well, that's me.

So, I decided to go through my dies a little at a time and use them on my projects.

I had purchased a set of inexpensive dies from Amazon a while back. It's a set to build a house. I didn't use all of the pieces but I like the result.

(Note:  Dies on Amazon can be a real bargain.  I find some unusual die designs which are really cool looking. BUT I do not order any dies from Amazon not shipped by them.  The dies can be made by any company but I always look to see a) if the dies are shipped by Amazon and b) the return policy of that company.  I haven't had any issues at all. The dies I buy are the thin metal etched ones. I haven't had any trouble cutting with them.)

My card is a standard A2 (5 1/2 x 4/1/4 inches).  I matted with brown card and then a blue and white basket weave paper.

I didn't have a sun die so I hand cut this one (from yellow pearl card).  It was so easy.  The rays are just long triangles. I cut the "sun" from one of the corners of my pearl card.

The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Chitchat set of stickers.

When I assembled the house, I added foam to the back of my porch piece.

Butterflies and Bows

Butterflies and Bows

Hi all. I wanted to share a square card that I made.

My card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square and is made with white cardstock.

I matted my card base with gold mirror and then a patterned paper from the Anna Griffin Salon Nouveau collection. I die cut a circle doily from an Anna Griffin die from her China Cabinet collection and layered it on top of my card. I added 3d flowers around the edge of the doily. I die cut three butterflies (dies from Amazon) from iridescent mirror card, pink pearl and white pearl cardstocks. I added these to my card. I added gems and some crystal drops on Pink orchid (TS) I added two pink bows and some gold drops from Cadence in Pure Gold. I added the sentiment above from another of Anna Griffin's card kits.

I really love the butterfly dies. They are fairly large.  Did you notice the white one is a Steampunk themed one? I didn't until after I die cut it out. I decided to use it on my card anyway.

A Love Card

 A Love Card

Greetings Friends! A happy Sunday to you all.

This is a standard size A2 card made with white cardstock.

I added some patterned paper and then used a die to create the cut-in design on the front (Paper Discovery). I backed this cut design using dark green specialty cardstock (Tonic Studios - Green Valley 6x6 pad), adhering it to the inside front of my card. I cut three flowers from rainbow mirricard and leaves from gold mirror card. I adhered them to my card, adding a bow to match.  I cut the sentiment from the same dark green specialty cardstock I used to back the cut out. I added some acrylic gems.

Here is a close up of the flowers. You can see some of the rainbow reflected in the flowers.
