Adore ...A Collage Card

Today's card includes an acetate covering so there's a bit of shine to my pictures.  The acetate came with the white dots or "snow" on it.  I thought it was such a cool effect for this card.

Materials:
  • "Snow" acetate (Hot off the Press)
  • Word Die Adore (Frantic Stamper Precision Dies)
  • Flowers (Prima)
  • Ribbon (mint green)
  • card base (This is a mustard yellow caard stock with flecks of other colors in it.  I got it a Kelly Paper)
  • Patterned card stock (DCWV)
  • Washi tape in dark brown with writing (Michaels)
  • Gold foil border stickers

The card is pretty easy to put together. I cut the  acetate about 1.4 inch wider than my A2 card and scored it before creasing it.  I attached it to the back of my card using Red Line super adhesive tape.

I pulled the acetate back so that you could see the detail of the card a little better.

Here you can see a little of the border foil sticker.

Happy Holidays Santa Card

Hey!  It's the holiday season!  Time to make Christmas cards!  It's my favorite time of year.

Today's card is my first of the season:

Materials:

  • I love Graphic 45 but sometimes have a hard time figuring out how to use the 12 x 12 papers, especially the ones with the large graphics on them.  This is what I used for my card today.
    • I decided that I wanted the Santa design on the front of my card and I wanted it to cover the whole front.
    • I used glue stick and put glue over the front of my card.
    • I laid it down carefully onto the back of the patterned paper (remembering which way the card opened!)
    • I trimmed around my card.  It came out really well.
  • There is another paper in the collection that uses the poem so I cut a strip to help decorate the front of my card. There is a coordinating strip on the inside of my card also.
  • I cut the greeting from foiled card stock, used mounting tape and added it to the lower right corner.
  • I added the bow and had longer streamers which I made waves with and secured with glue dots.
The card looks a lot more complicated than it really is.  It came out really well.

Stay tuned for more Christmas card designs!
