Butterflies of Time Card

 

 

 

My card today uses my new favorite Frantic Stamper precision Die - Petite Butterflies!  I love this die because I can cut three sizes of butterflies with one pass and they are stackable!  What's not to love!  (They are just the right sizes for cards too!)

 

 

I had some extra strips of card stock and decided to weave them together to see what I got.  I liked it so much that I stamped it with a La Blanche stamp.  I added a few stacked butterflies to decorate. I was debating whether to use some pearls on the butterflies but they were so pretty by themselves. The embossed silver shimmer paper added a really fancy background for the butterflies.

 

 

Happy Holidays Christmas Lights Card

Today's card is a really pretty card for Christmas and very colorful.

First the materials!

• card base is plain white card stock in A2 size
• red glitter card
• silver linen card (Hot off the press)
• Frantic Stamper Dies
• Christmas Lights Card Panel
• Happy Holidays Word Die
• glitter glue
• white fun foam
• white card stock
• DG4 Gel (Judikins), Diamond Glaze or the stuff that Tim Holtz uses from Ranger

Steps:

1. Cut the panel from white cardstock and again from the white fun foam
• It is amazing how easy the fun foam cuts.  I thought it might be too thick to cut well but one pass and the innies are falling out of the die cut.
2. I used a liquid glue that dries clear (Aleene's Tacky Glue is a goo choice).  I put the glue on the back of my paper die cut.
3. Then I started at one corner and glued the entire thing down, making sure to match the design.  This will be the only time-consuming part.  And if you start the gluing own accurately, everything will fall into place.
4. The neat thing about using the foam is that you get instant dimension (THANK you Kathy for being the first one to suggest and try this!)
5. Cut the red glitter paper to 4 1/4 x 5 3/8 inches and layer onto your card base
6. Cut the silver linen (oh its so pretty) to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and layer onto your card.
7. Add glue to the back of your Christmas Light Panel and attach to your card.

Now comes the fun part - decorating the lights!

1. Use the various glitter glues and add color to all the bulbs.  I didn't add any other colors to each bulb (like the neck).
2. Let this dry overnight.
3. Take your clear lacquer and put a coat of it on each bulb over top of the dried glitter.
4. Let dry overnight
5. You may wish to add a second coat of lacquer after the first dries.  I was going for a more dimensional and rounded bulb look so I added a second coat.
6. If you add a second coat, let dry over night.

To make your sentiment:

1. Die cut your sentiment from gold foil card
2. Die cut a small oval of matte gold
3. Mount your sentiment onto the gold oval (I did this so that I could read the words clearly and there wasn't a distraction from the lights underneath. I also used gold because if I had used silver I think it would have blended in too much with the silver linen underneath.
4. Use mounting tape on the back of the oval only and mount your sentiment onto your card.

Happy Happy Happy

 Hi everyone! My card today is a "happy" one!

I started out with an ivory card base, added dark green shimmer paper and copper foil die cut of the Ombre Chevron Card Panel. I cut out another chevron panel using green foil card stock.  I used some of the green foil cut outs on my card by fitting the cut outs into the copper negative space.

I cut out the Happy Happy Happy using the die of the same name out of some green patterned Basic Grey paper.  I  layered another "happy" out of gold gloss in the center and added it to my card.

As a final touch, I added a group of paper flowers (tulips, the other flower I don't know the name of) and tied it with light green and yellow silk ribbons.
