A couple of simple cards for you...

Hi everyone!
Sorry that I have been lax in publishing lately.  The holidays, after the holidays and work have kept me pretty busy.  I hope that I am back on track for now.  Thanks for your patience!

My first card offering is a basic pink glitter background with Florentine paper backed with gold and a pink ribbon.

This is a nicely classic style with an out of the ordinary color - PINK!  The picture doesn't do the card justice. The glitter cardstock I used is quite glittery and beautiful.  The Florentine paper that I used has gold accents around the flowers.  The gold mat accents this nicely.

My second card is a simple butterfly accented heart punched design.  I filled the negative spaces of the punched design with red glitter glue (hearts) and diamond glaze.  It took very little time for this to air dry.

I added the 3-d butterfly from K&Company to the center of my card.  You may notice that I also used some white opal Liquid pearl as accents on the corners.

I wanted to show you the effect of using diamond glaze in the cut outs from the punch. It worked really well and gave the overall card a nicely glazed accent.

I hope you enjoyed these designs and that they inspire you to create your own unique cards!

Welcome 2012!~ (and two valentine cards)

Hello everyone and Happy New Year to all of you!  I hope that your holiday season was wonderful and relaxing...and lots of crafting was done!

Now that the holidays are over, we can focus on the New Year...taxes and Valentines! (Hopefully not in that order!)

It took me a while to stop seeing red and green!  I want to present two pretty little cards for Valentine's Day.

First up: A Doily Valentine Card

I used white doilies and glued them to my card.  I didn't color them.  All I have is a patterned background (Echo Park) and a punched piece (Martha Stewart).

I really like using doilies in my work.  They add that bit of Victorian feel.

Second Card: Valentine Bling

I punched an edge design in the bottom of my card and backed the front with pink shimmer paper.  I threaded dark pink ribbon through the punched openings.  I added clear crystals above and white pearls below the ribbon.

I edged my card with Vintage Photo.  It's still pretty plain.  I think I am going back and adding a stamped design on the front using VersaMark...probably writing.  I think that will help this card out.  I'll add a picture when its done.

This time I punched the heart in red shimmer paper.

I hope that these cards inspire you to make your own.  Thanks again for stopping by.
