A Poodle in Paris

I love the idea of Paris so I make themed French cards periodically.  There is a great mystique surrounding Paris, and with all the history, I can understand why.  It is a great old city. Frantic Stamper has some great dies that are Paris-themed. Today's card uses the French Poodle!
Choosing a background for my French city was challenging! I finally settled on a dark purple with a Fleur de lis design.  I wanted a nighttime scene with the tower in the background. The tower is iconic so the shape alone tells you what it is.

I also chose suede paper in different dark colors to give the illusion of all the houses in the city.  I modified some of the roofs so that the three strips would look a little different from each other.

My final step was to figure out how to put the poodle in my card so that it looked close up (perspective).  I created a "gate" that I added in gold foil in front of the houses. Guess what I used!  The Southwest Panel!  I cut the ends off and used them side by side. It does a pretty good job!  I added a couple of tiny pearls to use a "knobs" for my gate.

I added a gold wire that I curled for a collar and leash. I mounted my poodle using mounting foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by! Lis
