Modern Valentine's Day Card

Here is a modern Valentine's Day card made with a sticky backed shiny holographic foil.

Modern Romance

Materials:
Paper:
White Cardstock (5 ½” x 8 ½”) American Craft Cardstock – White
Gold Glossy Cardstock (5 ½” x 4”) Foil Coated Gold 8.5"x11"
Holographic Foil (5 ¼” x 4”) -Holographic Hearts WWP-holo-hearts 12"x12"

Embellishments:
Kaiser Craft Rhinestones SILVER,  RED
K & Company Que Sera Sera Borders (with foil) - 22 total pieces 12" long

Tools:
Paper Trimmer – Fiskars
Making Memories The Slice
Slice Design Card Vintage Findings

Directions:

  1. Fold your white cardstock in half to form your card base.  The card opens on the bottom. Set aside.
  2. Glue your valentine background paper to your card base.
  3. Glue your fancy border strip to your card.  (I let the strip go to the edge of my base card and trimmed it there instead of trimming to the mat paper.)
  4. Add acrylic gems alternating in red and clear to the design on your border strip.
    1. NOTE: Since I had an even number of designs, I made a pattern of red, clear, red, red, clear, red rather than alternating so that I could avoid having red on one side and clear on the other.)
    2. Have fun with this and create a pattern!
  5. Using The Slice and the Vintage Findings design card, I cut out the word “romance” and a design element from the gold glossy cardstock.
  6. I attached the word Romance and the design element to my card with glue stick.

This is a fun and quick valentine card that can be made with whatever background paper you want.  Change the word and the color and you can create different cards for different holidays or celebrations. Enjoy!
