Create Art

Hi and welcome!

Today's card uses a beautiful panel die and a panorama (?) die of Japan. (I liked this so much I made another card with it. See it at the end of the page.)

This is a standard A2 card made with black cardstock.

I believe that the panel die came from Frantic Stamper.  The clouds came from Amazon.  I dont remember where the other die came from.

I die cut the panel from red cardstock and adhered it to my card.  I die cut the Japanese scene from gold mirror card (Hunkdory - it;s SO shiny - great stuff).  I used foam squares to add height. I die cut the clouds from white pearl card.  The large one is glued to the card. The smaller one is adhered with foam squares.
The sentiment is from Chitchat Tim Holtz and is added with a foam strip.

I decided to use some washi tape around the border of my card.  I tried about 4 different ways before I settled on the one you see before you.

I'm always looking for a really rich deep black and found it!  I purchased from Kelly Paper the Neenah Classic Linen Epic Black Cover.  Its such a beautiful color and the linen texture gives it an elegant feel.  I've been using Epic Black for a while now. It's a great color.

Slimline Cards made with CC Hummingbird Collection

Slimline Cards made with CC Hummingbird Collection

Hi all,

Today I have made two slimline cards using Crafters Companion Hummingbird papers.

These are standard slimline cards ( 3 1/2 x 8 1/2)made with white cardstock.

I matted one card with pink mirror card and one with blue mirror card.  Then I added patterned paper.

PINK CARD:
Crafters Companion came out with foil leaf.  I got some and used the pink and gold colors on my card.  I used a brush that I normally use for watercolor and swiped swatches of glue on my card. I waited for the glue to dry tacky and then added the foil leaf in pink and gold.
I die cut/embossed a small square from pink mirror card using Anna Griffin cut/emboss cartouches and added my sentiment cut from silver satin finish mirror card.  I added this with foam pads to my card.
I added pink organza ribbon down the length of the card with the bow near the top.
I added purple Pops of Color also.

BLUE CARD:
Like the pink card, I added swipes of gold and blue foil leaf to the front of my card.  I matted some patterned paper onto some more of the blue mirror card and added my sentiment (Hello) on - also cut from blue mirror card.
I added royal blue pops of color to the card.
I added white organza ribbon from bottom left to top right of my card with a bow.
