American Dragonfly Card

Hi everyone!

I got my inspiration for today's card from a fellow design team member on http://www.franticstamper.com/. This is a wonderful website store that has EVERYTHING and then some!

Anyway, this card is made with white cardstock and one of Martha Stewart's deep edger punches called Garden Trellis.  I punched each side of a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card to create the base.  I layered paper so that it covered both front and back of the center.  Then I embellied with two flowers, some brads AND that cute dragonofly.

I punched the dragonfly out of a blue plaid paper (reminded me of picnic table cloth, only blue instead of red).  I added two small pearls for the eyes. I curled the wings  and tail to give my little guy some dimension.

I really love this card!

Sun Collage Card

Hi everyone!

Today's card is a vintage card entitled Sun Card. I used Tim Holtz's tissue tape, plenty of bling and paper flowers too! (You might notice the gold leaves I used? They are from the Cake Decorating Aisle at the craft store!)

I really like the way that this card came out.  All the different layers blend very nicely.  There is a lot to look at with this card so it's interesting to the eye.

I want to show you how I created all the layers for this card.  They are easy to do and you can change the colors to suite your style.

First, I used a border punch to create a lacy border. I chose a light green to go with the bright yellow mat I used for the front of the card.

I added a piece of brown core'dinations cardstock that had been embossed with a cuttlebug and sanded.

Finally, I added the tissue tape.

I have a small tag punch that I used punch out three tags. I used ink to color the tags and then added the letters to spell out SUN. (This would look really nice with green tags and JOY for Christmas!)

I layered the tags onto the card with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today's card!
