Have Yourself a Merry Christmas - Card

Hi All!

Here is a card that I made for my niece and her family.  I really like the background paper.  Some of the images are glossy and the rest matte.  All of the images are vintage, which I like.

 Items Used:
  • Gold Flowers - Michaels
  • Red Glossy Card - Kelly Paper
  • Card Base - white card
  • Matte design - not sure where I got this.  I really liked the old timely pictures.
  • Red pearls - Michaels?
  • Christmas Brads - Time Holtz Idea ology - Michaels
  • Sentiment Sticker - Paper Wishes - Dazzles

I had to use a plain piece of card or paper to place my sentiment on otherwise it wasn't going to show up.  I chose a red glossy piece.  I punched some holes, one in each corner and inserted the brads.  I really like the "25th" brad.  The sticker is from a set - they are a white sparkle (not glitter0 with a gold edging.

I knew I needed to fill in this spot with something.  I didn't want to use ribbon because I have to mail this to New York.  I chose these pearls.  They are smaller and hopefully will go through without a problem.

Christmas Cheer Card

Hi everyone!

Its getting close to Christmas.  I thought I would have time to create many Christmas cards (I bet they are your favorite to make as much as mine) but time got the better of me - and here it is, just 5 days before Christmas! Yikes!

I did have some time to make a few more Christmas cards for family. So, I thought I would share them.

Items Used:
  • CHEERS Die - Paper Wishes Paper Artist Series
  • Blue coarse glitter card stock, pink/purple matte foiled card stock - Create and Craft
  • Gold Glossy Card stock - Kelly Paper
  • Gold Bows - Anna Griffin
  • Collaged pieces - actually playing cards with Victorian pictures on them - Sky Blue Pink
  • Gold Paint Pen - Krylon
  • Card Base - pain white card
  • Red pearls - Michaels I think

Here is a detail shot of the die cut.

These are two of the playing cards I used as collage elements.  The set is lovely (Victorian Playing Cards - referring to the pictures on them, not the style.)  I cut off the edges and used a hole punch to cut out the corners.  I edged them in gold paint pen.

Merry Christmas - a Vintage Christmas Card

Hello fellow crafters,

I love vintage, Victorian cards.

Items used:
  • Hunkydory Classic Christmas Card Collection
  • white card for the base
  • silver snowflake stickers and gold sentiment - Dazzles by Paper Wishes

I wish that I could take credit for this GORGEOUS card but it comes from a card kit.  This is but ONE of the cards in it.

This particular card kit has a lot of decoupaging with many layers.  You can see that with the poinsettias.  Everything has gold foil edging.

I added some snowflake stickers to the centers of the flowers on the front...

And scattered snowflakes on the inside along with a sentiment.

Father Christmas - a card

This is my favorite card so far for this season.  I love the shape of the card and the contrasting white with dark green foliage.

 Items used:
  • card base - white card
  • die used - Tonic
    • Tonic has these "verso" dies where the pattern can be cut into the card rather than out of it as a separate piece. This is what I used to get the opening on the front of my card where the red from the inside of the card shows through.
    • This particular set also comes with the outer dies that cut the shape.
  • The die for the green foliage - unfortunately I cannot remember.  I believe that I got it at Paper WIshes.com.
  • Paper Wishes - embossing folder for the front of the card
  • stickles glitter glue for the centers of the embossed areas
  • forest green suede paper for the foliage - Paper Wishes
  • gold flowers - michaels
  • gold glossy and red glossy card
  • image - This was cut from a 12 x 12 paper.  I cut the image itself down also to fit the size I wanted for my center.  I was able to meld two parts of the image to make it look like Santa was holding the bag.  In actuality the bag is at his feet in the original image.  Pretty cool, huh?

Here is a great close up of the green foliage.  I love that the suede paper was embossed.  The embossed parts look lighter in color but in fact it is the same piece of forest suede paper.

Here's a look at the embossing I did and the addition of glitter.

Velveteen background - girl with Christmas Tree

 Items used:
  • Patterned velvet background - anna griffin
  • Red glitter damask design mat - anna griffin
  • Bling - Michaels
  • Image - Hunkydory
  • Ribbon - anna griffin

I saw the bling at Michaels and had to get it.  It reminds me of Art Deco.  I did cut down the ends a bit so that it would fit onto my card.

I really like how the red on red tones look.

Items Used:
  • Hunkydory image
  • gold glossy, red glossy for mats
  • embossed copper grey metallic card- create and craft
  • string of pearls - Hobby House
  • Red ribbon - Reasonable ribbon
I wanted the ribbon ends to swirl around the card.  I'm still not sure that I like how it ended up.

Festive Christmas Card

 Hi everyone,
Today's car includes some hand coloring.  I love to color but I'm not a good artist (that means I usually cant keep within the lines).

 Items used:
  • Tattered Lace Die used for card base shape and for foil cut outs
    • Shadow Collection - Meadow Sweet
  • silver foil card (matte), red gloss card
  • spectrum noire in red and green
  • image was from a Christmas 12 x 12 paper pad that had vintage images
To make the card:
  1. I cut two pieces of the "card" out of white card stock.
  2. I used one piece for the front and the other for the back.
    • I took a ruler and embossed a line on the left side of my 'back' piece of paper and folded on the line.  This folded tab was what I glued to the front piece to make the whole card without losing the full front image.
  3. I cut the inner die cut twice, once from silver foil card and once from red glossy card.
  4. I cut off most of the red parts except the large rose parts in the upper right and lower left corners.  These were layers under the silver foil piece so that they just showed.  I did this ti give a bit of red color to the card.
  5. I added the silver foil die cut to the front of the card and glued that down.
  6. I colored in the leaves and the flowers with green and red.
  7. The inside of the card is not shown but I added a little sentiment there also.
