Photo Corner Embellished Card

And you thought that photo corners were just for holding pictures on.  They are great to create designs on your cards!

Close Up!

I added the jewels to the photo corners. These corners are gold (of course) and are adhesive backed.  It can't get any easier!

Hope you enjoyed today's card. Try out some photo corners yourself!

Dragonfly Cameo Card

I love cameos as much as I love photo corners!  This card has both.  (You can get the cameos at http://www.franticstamper.com/.  Fran has over 80 different styles including Christmas.  Too gorgeous!)

These are white photo corners. You wouldnt think they would look good on gold but they do!  These photo corners come in different colors and are adhesive backed which makes it a lot easier to apply.

Close Up!

I added the little jewel on to the cameo.

Come back tomrrow for another card with photo corners.

Guess What?

Hi everyone!  Guess What?  I am going to be a columnist for Unruly Paper Arts!  This is a great Blogzine.  Click HERE to see what they have!  Collage, assemblage, all kinds of media....it's going to be a great time.  I hope that you will stop by to read the articles and follow the artists who contribute.

Here is my first contribution: An Homage to travel

Close Up!

I covered this cut out enbelope with clear glass microbeads after I colored the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Do you recognize Frantic Stamper's cameo?  This site has many choices and they are all gorgeous.

Love that bling!

Hope you enjoyed my card. Don't forget to click on over to Unruly Paper Arts and see what they are about!

Meeting Under the Tree - A Card with Photo Corners

I love to use photo corners. It reminds me of those old black ones that you see in old victorian scrapbooks.  I am inspired by old things and old memories.  Enjoy.

Close Up!
You wouldnt think purple would work out but it does!

I like the black plastic dots (I wouldnt call them pearls exactly).

Come back next weekend for more photo corners!

A Simple Card in Yellow

Close Up!

This embellishment comes from the French General Line.

I like the way the grey pearls go with the silver glitter in the paper.

Thanks and come by again!

A Grid Design for Cards

Hi everyone!  I hope that you are all doing well!

The template for my card today is not a new one. In fact, it's about as old as I am (and that's pretty old!)  I used different patterned paper with yellows and greens.  I added the red and pink heart border - I wasn't sure about it but it really works well.

I love the butterflies as a border between two of the patterned papers.

Close Up!

I used a butterfly border as demarcation on my card.

I hope that you try this out at home.  It's a really simple card to make and uses up your scraps too!  Thanks for stopping by!

Black and White Collage with Pearls

I picked up these cards from Michaels.  The original card is kraft and white embossed designs.  I added the rest of the decorations.

Close Up!

The colors of the butterflies really pop!

Don't you love these pearls?

Come back soon for another card design!

Treasure - A Simple Card

This is another simple card to make.  Whatever punch you have, just punch the design out of the center of a piece of 4 3/4 x 3 1/2 piece of plain cardstock.  Back it with patterned paper 5 1/4 x 4. (all inches).  Add your embellishment to the center.

The flower is actually wood.

Close Up!

I got these charming letters by Authentique.  They are a thicker cardstock and just the right size for smaller messages.

I like the bead on this embellishment. (It came like this.) I believe that its glass so careful if you're sending through the post.

Thanks and come again, Lis

Wonder

I really like this card.  It is monochromatic (same color, different shades).  I like the way the ribbon shines.

K&Company have these 3-D stickers that they make with all their lines.  Most will have some glitter on them also.  They are all very pretty and I can't resist them!  The bird is from one of them.

Close Up!

As you can see I smudged the stamped word! <sigh>

Take care, Lis

Button Front ~

I wanted to create a card with rows of buttons on it.  I punched out my shapes and lined them up.  It didn't look right. So, I got out my bakers twine and started threading them.  I'm still not sure it looks right.  I think it looks better.  I think the bows are sweet.

The buttons are attached to the card with glue dots.  They are not sewn to the card.

Close Up!

As you can see I used different colors of bakers twine.

I had these cute little domed stickers that worked perfectly with these punched buttons.

The background paper had this old family feel to it.

I hope you enjoyed this weekends button cards!

Button Card

I love to use buttons as accents. Martha Stewart has a fabulous button punch that punches out the shape and embosses the rim.  Now I can have just the right color button all the time.

I used a simple matted strip of paper with two brads.

Close Up!

These paper buttons look real, don't they?  And the bakers twine is the perfect accent.

These buttons are attached using mounting tape.
